A Little About Me
Welcome, my name is Samantha Rose, and I love magic.
I love the magic of being human, of how varied and complicated that experience can be. I love connecting with people through our similarities and differences, hearing their stories, and learning about the traditions that have shaped their lives.
Where does your family come from? What stories have been passed down through generations? What traditions have you carried forward, and which ones have you created for yourself? How much of who you are has been shaped by the people who came before you?
These are the kinds of questions I find myself asking when I meet someone. I'm endlessly curious about what makes us who we are, the stories we carry, and the things we may never fully understand.
And then, of course, there's the mystery of being alive. The unseen, the inexplicable, the moments when something seems to reach beyond what we can explain. What do the spirits have to say? What can we learn when we slow down and listen?
I've never felt that humans exist separately from the natural world. We're part of it, just as much as the plants growing beneath our feet, the birds moving through the trees, and the waters that shape the land. I believe there is so much to learn from the other beings we share this world with, if we're willing to pay attention.
My own practice is deeply influenced by my ancestry. My family comes from Sweden, and I feel a strong connection to the land, forests, and sea of that part of the world. I've also been exploring the Celtic threads of my ancestry, learning about the folklore, traditions, and relationships with the natural world that have endured through generations.
Herbalism, divination, folklore, and ritual are some of the ways I explore these connections. I spend a lot of time learning from plants, researching old traditions, listening to stories, and following whatever sparks my curiosity.
Wild Artemisia is a home for all of these explorations. A place to gather my writing, share what I'm learning, create with plants, and document the strange and beautiful experience of being alive.
I'm glad you've found your way here.
